"Students from GCC worked with children from Camp Hickory and Green Street to prepare them for the Special Education Olympics. The Olympics were sponsored by the Student Affairs Committee with Mrs. Joan Crawford serving as the Faculty Advisor and Doug Stanton and Suzanne Ryan serving as the Student Coordinators for the program. The students participated in 8 different events which included hopping and broad jump, ball toss, running and crabwalk, tumbling, rope jumping, balance beam, relays, and bowling. Students were awarded ribbons for every event."
