Tutor Training: Advising

Best Chance Advising begins November 3, 2025!

All tutors should be equipped to:

1. Know what Best Chance Advising is.
2. Remind students that Best Chance Advising is approaching.
3. Encourage students to contact their advisor for an appointment.
4. Assist students in registering for their classes once they’ve met with their advisor and received registration clearance.

Please review the Tutors Guide to Best Chance Advising PowerPoint training presentation (attached below). As noted in the Powerpoint, there are detailed student instructions and demonstration videos in the AASC Student Resources course in Blackboard. If you have time, please review those materials as well.  

The ‘Advising Corner’ in the Tutoring Center is stocked with the How to Register for Classes handout, Registration Worksheets, Faculty Advisor Contact Information sheets, the Summer Course Schedule, and Pencils. Feel free to use and share as needed!
