Institutional Compliance

The Office of Institutional Compliance oversees the College's compliance with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, Clery Act, ADA/504 and other federal and state laws, regulations and requirements. The Office of Institutional Compliance serves as a method of recourse to those, be they student, faculty, or staff, who believe that a particular action on the part of a college member has violated accepted or stated institutional practices and standards.

Key Terms

Diversity is the range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values system, national origin, and political beliefs.

Equity is the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups.

Inclusion is involvement and empowerment, where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. An inclusive university promotes and sustains a sense of belonging; it values and practices respect for the talents, beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of living of its members.

Institutional Compliance refers to a college or university’s commitment to following all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards at the local, state, and federal levels. This includes areas such as civil rights, safety, privacy, employment practices, and financial operations. The goal of institutional compliance is to ensure that the institution operates with integrity, minimizes risk, and promotes accountability and fairness across all aspects of campus life.
