Introducing Hypotheses Tests

This section shows how to use data to assess a claim about a population.

Statistical Test - uses data from a sample to assess a claim about a population

Null Hypothesis - a claim that there is no difference or effect.

Alternative Hypothesis - claim for which you are seeking evidence.

Statistical Significance - having convincing evidence against the null hypothesis and in favor of the alternative hypothesis.
